Both a Performing Choir and a Music Class in

Northeast Louisiana

Young people learn by doing. The Delta Youth Chorale seeks to give students the ability to do music and not just merely know about it. Whether it’s through games, folk dancing, or practicing for choir concerts and community performances, the DYC will have your student immersed in musical fun and they won’t even know they’re learning a variety of music and skills.

Teaching Students to love the

Great Choral Masterworks

DYC builds the student’s singing voice and seeks to give them a love for great music, past and present. We want to give them the “musical muscles” to be able to sing and read any and all music for all their days.

Taking Seriously the Idea that

Everyone
Can Sing!

The Delta Youth Chorale is a non-auditioned ensemble because we believe that given enough time and access, children can be taught to sing skillfully. There is no audition requirement to join DYC. A willing attitude to have some fun and sing some great music is all that is requred.

Testimonials

  • Jarrod has developed a program that truly pushes his students to achieve great things, but because it is so much fun, they don’t even realize how much they are being challenged! Jarrod’s energy and excitement is absolutely contagious—I wish I’d had the benefit of this type of musical education at such a young age!

  • Mr. Richey’s skill and passion are contagious, and his students can’t help but catch it. This fine concerts are a testament to his hard work and dedication. I sang some of these same pieces in college. Fellow homeschool parents, you want your kid in this choir. Trust me. The fruit is well worth the commitment.

  • DYC has been a significant aid in improving my boys’ musical literacy and ability to match pitch, in addition to giving them an opportunity to cultivate new friendships.
